Winter Juniors Qualifier Chase Kendall Sends Verbal To Cincinnati For Fall 2027

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Winter Juniors qualifier Chase Kendall has announced his verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Cincinnati beginning in the fall of 2027. He publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:

I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to pursue my academic and athletic career at the University of Cincinnati! I would like to thank my family, friends, and teammates for supporting me throughout this process. Also, thank you Coach Junior for developing me into the swimmer I am today. A big thanks to Coach Joey and Scott for giving me this opportunity. Go Bearcats!!

A rising senior at Ponte Vedra High School in Florida, Kendall has been a member of his school’s varsity swimming team since his freshman year. He also trains year-round with SwimRise Aquatics, where he primarily specializes in distance freestyle.

Kendall is coming off a 2025-26 season that saw him drop over 20 seconds in the 1650 free, nearly 10 seconds in the 500 free, and about four and a half seconds in the 200 free. At the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 3A State Championships in November, he made his first ‘A’ final, finishing fifth in the 500 free (4:35.95, then a PB) and 15th in an off-event 200 IM (1:57.96). He went on to debut at Winter Juniors – East a month later, where he clocked his current PB of 15:37.60 in the 1650 free en route to 26th place. At the Florida Senior Championships in March, he swam to fourth in the 500 free (4:32.57, 4:29.79 in prelims) and the 1650 free (15:38.06), 15th in the 400 IM (4:04.70, 4:01.02 in prelims), and 27th in the 200 free (1:42.70), with the 500 free, 400 IM, and 200 free all current PBs.

Top SCY Times:

  • 200 Freestyle: 1:42.70
  • 500 Freestyle: 4:29.79
  • 1650 Freestyle: 15:37.60

A Division I Mid-Major program, Cincinnati competes in the Big 12 Conference, with the men’s team placing sixth out of seven teams at the 2026 conference championships. Kendall’s lifetime best in the 1650 free would have placed 22nd and scored three points at the meet. Times of 1:36.75 and 4:27.57 were needed to score in the 200 and 500 free. Even so, with two full seasons of training still to go before he lines up at his first conference meet, he looks poised to be an immediate contributor.

Kendall joins sprint free/back specialist Carson Hoak as the only publicized commits in the Bearcats’ class of 2031 so far.
