Harvard Adds George Dovellos, 2025 Florida High School 100 Fly Champion, to Class of 2030

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

3-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, George Dovellos, who hails from Jacksonville, Florida, will swim and study at Harvard University beginning in the fall of 2026. At the time of his commitment, he wrote:

“I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Harvard University! I would like to give glory to God and thank my family, coaches, and teammates for supporting me along the way. I would also like to thank Coach Kevin and Coach Dan for giving me the opportunity to swim and study at Harvard. GO CRIMSON!”

Dovellos is a senior at Bolles School; he swims year-round with the club team, Bolles School Sharks.

Dovellos led a 1-2-3-4 Bolles sweep in the 100 fly at the 2025 FHSAA Class 1A State Championships, cracking the 48-second barrier for the first time to win the 100 fly state title with a time of 47.25. He also contributed to 3 first-place Bolles relays, swimming a 21.1 fly leg on the national record-breaking 200 medley relay, splitting a 19.9 free leg on the 4×50 free relay, and leading off the 4×100 free in 43.70. As a junior, he was runner-up in the fly (48.23) and the 200 free (1:37.03).

Dovellos competed at 2025 Winter Juniors East a month after high school states and this time he broke through the 47-second barrier in the 100 fly, twice. In prelims, he clocked a 46.85 to lead the qualifiers into finals; at night, he went 46.87 to finish 2nd. He also split a 46.5 fly leg on the Sharks’ medley relay, placed 8th in the 100 free, and went a PB in the 200 free (1:36.62) leading off the 800 free relay.

Last summer, Dovellos had a big meet at Ocala Futures, where he swam to lifetime bests in the 100 free (51.53), 200 free (1:53.25), and 100 fly (53.65).

Dovellos will have an immediate impact on the Crimson roster, with times that would have scored in the ‘B’ finals of the 100 fly and 200 free and the ‘C’ finals of the 100 free and 500 free at 2026 Ivy League Men’s Championships.

Best SCY times:

  • 50 fly – 21.71
  • 100 fly – 46.85
  • 200 fly – 1:47.07
  • 100 free – 43.70
  • 200 free – 1:36.09
  • 500 free – 4:24.33

Also joining the Harvard class of 2030 will be swimmers Adam Bradley, Alex Naydenov, Botond Kovacs, Colton Larson, Deyvid Naydenov, and Owen Lin, and diver Victor Molin.
