Williams College Snags Futures Finalist Liam Mac Colla For 2026

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Sprint freestyle specialist Liam Mac Colla has verbally committed to swim for Williams College, a Division III school in Massachusetts, beginning in the fall of 2026. Mac Colla is a senior at Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, New York City, and trains with the 92nd Street Y Flying Dolphins.

“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Williams College! Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for all the support throughout this journey.”

Mac Colla was a finalist at the 2025 NYSPHSAA Boys Federation Championship (SCY) in March, placing 4th in the 50 free (20.86) and 5th in the 100 free (46.12) as a junior.

Mac Colla posted three lifetime bests in December at the 2025 Speedo Winter Junior Championship—East (SCY), including the 50 free (20.16), 100 free (45.08), and 200 free (1:39.62).

The year prior, in November 2024 at the MR TRI Fall SCY Invitational, Mac Colla recorded his fastest time in the 100 fly, winning the event in 50.64. He also won the 50 free (20.65) and finished 7th in both the 100 breast (1:00.08) and the 400 IM (4:25.93).

This past July, Mac Colla recorded long course personal bests at the Futures Championship in Ocala in the 50 free (23.53), 200 free (2:00.40), and 100 fly (59.20). He also reached the finals in the 50 free, placing 16th with a time of 23.77.

  • 50 Free – 20.16
  • 100 Free – 45.08
  • 200 Free – 1:39.62
  • 100 Fly – 50.64

Williams College captured victory at the 2025 NESCAC Men’s Championships. Mac Colla has the potential to be a huge asset, as his 50 free time would have been the quickest on last season’s roster, while his 100 free would have ranked 2nd. His 50 free would also have placed 2nd at the 2025 conference championships and been fast enough to qualify for the ‘B’ final at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship.

Mac Colla will join Koen Anderson, Kieran Lee, Will Blakeley, John Dwyer, Calvin Meymaris, and Ryan Kang on campus this fall. Anderson and Lee are also from New York.
