After the first day of action from the Ocasek Natatorium, Akron holds a 12-point lead over Cornell on the women’s side, while the Cornell Men hold an eight-point lead over Keiser, after the opening day relay races.
Women’s Recap:
In their home pool at their own invite, Akron kicked off the scoring at the 2025 Zippy Invitational with a win in the 200 medley relay.
Abbey Cronin (25.28), Claire Cox (27.37), Callie Parkes (23.88), and Ada Szwabinska (22.08) combined for the win for the Zips in 1:38.61.
The Buffalo women denied Akron the day 1 sweep by nabbing the 800 free relay win, touching just 43 one-hundredths ahead of the Zips.
The quartet of Abbey Gardner (1:50.42), Bella Forsman (1:48.30), Elise McCaul (1:49.05), and Kamilla Nemes (1:50.38) banded together for the 800 free relay win for Buffalo in 7:18.15.

Men’s Recap:
Keiser came away victorious in the first men’s race of the meet in 1:25.20, finishing over a second and a half ahead of runners-up Youngstown State in 1:26.85.
Keiser’s quad of Nicklas Pedersen (22.23), Noel De Geus (23.50), Isaiah Aleksenko (20.25), and Jet Fuhrmann (19.22) totaled a winning time of 1:25.20.
Cornell’s 800 free relay controlled the race, winning by over four seconds ahead of Youngstown State, who finished 2nd.
The Cornell relay of Pietro Ubertalli (1:35.06), Julian Correa (1:38.14), Will Chen (1:37.08), and Gabe Anagnoson (1:37.17) clocked an event clinching 6:27.45.
