Brown Closes Day 2 of Bucknell Invite Atop Men’s and Women’s Team Standings

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Brown women’s swimming and diving continued to lead after day two of the Bucknell Invitational at Kinney Natatorium, earning four victories on Saturday. Morgan Lukinac won the 200 free and was part of the winning 800 free relay team, joined by Kelly DolceNatalie Garre, and Crystal YuenSumner Chmielewski won in the 400 IM, and Angelina Chen earned the top spot in the 100 breast. Overall, Brown earned 1,340 points through two days.

SATURDAY EVENING SESSION
The evening started with the 200 medley relay, and the Bears had two top-eight finishes. The ‘A’ team, consisting of Nadia ThomasAngelina ChenEva McIver-Jenkins, and Audrey Chung, finished second (1:41.34). The ‘B’ team, made up of Brooke ManningAmie BarrowLizzy Washburn, and Lily Robinson, finished seventh.

Sumner Chmielewski repeated her prelims victory in the 400 IM with a 4:16.39 performance and first-place finish. Natalie Garre (fourth) and Emilia Barck (sixth) also placed in the top eight.

Lily Klinginsmith’s 54.10 in the 100 fly was good for second place. She was joined in the top eight by Washburn and Hannah Ahn.

The Bears went 1-2-3 in the 200 free finals as Morgan Lukinac won the event with a time of 1:46.00, followed by Crystal Yuen (1:46.54) and Kelly Dolce (1:48.34). Beatrice Stewart moved up two spots from her prelim mark for a sixth-place finish in the event.

Chen duplicated her prelims performance in the 100 breast with a first-place time in the finals. Barrow (third) and Kaitlyn Holmes (eighth) also finished in the top eight.

The Bears had three top-six finishes in the 100 back finals, with Barck placing second, Thomas third, and Manning sixth.

After advancing to the 1-meter dive finals, Isabella George finished second, Elena Yeh placed third, and Bowie Krawczyk took sixth.

Lukinac, Dolce, Garre, and Yuen won the 800 free relay with a time of 7:14.70.

SATURDAY MORNING SESSION
Chmielewski’s 4:16.98 in the 400 IM prelims won the event. Garre (third) and Barck (sixth) joined Chmielewski in the finals.

Klinginsmith (second), Washburn (sixth), and Ahn (eighth) reached the finals with top-eight marks in the 100 fly prelims.

Lukinac won the 200 free prelims to advance to the finals, along with Yuen (second), Dolce (third), and Stewart (eighth).

Chen won the 100 breast prelims with a time of 1:01.81, along with Barrow (third) and Holmes (seventh).

Thomas (second), Emilia Barck (fourth), and Manning (sixth) advanced to the finals in the 100 back with top-eight marks in the prelims.

Yeh (second), George (fourth), and Krawczyk (sixth) moved onto the finals with top-eight performances in the 1-meter dive.

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Brown men’s swimming and diving team collected two victories on Saturday as Marton Nagy won the 400 IM and was part of the 800 free relay team that finished atop the leaderboards at Kinney Natatorium. Nagy was joined on the relay squad by Christopher ZhangErik Nadecki, and Finn Quested. Overall, Brown is leading the Bucknell Invitational with 1,138.5 points.

SATURDAY EVENING SESSION
Brown’s two medley teams placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 200 medley relay to begin the evening session.

A dominating Brown performance in the 400 IM finals featured the top five finishes and overall, six in the top eight. Marton Nagy stole the show with a 3:46.48, breaking the Kinney Natatorium pool record, previously set in 2017 (3:47.12).

Zhang swam a 48.48 in the 100 fly finals for a fifth-place finish. Christian Duetoft (third) and Rory O’Connor (fifth) placed in the top five in the 200 free finals.

Jake Regenwetter shaved off .22 from his prelim time in the 100 breast finals for a second-place finish. Max Moore placed fourth in the same event to give Brown two top-five placements.

Nagy, Zhang, Nadecki, and Quested won the 800 free relay, concluding Saturday with a time of 6:30.41.

SATURDAY MORNING SESSION
Nagy won the 400 IM prelims with a time of 3:49.14. Five additional swimmers reached the finals as Matthew Purcell (second), Nadecki (third), James Kershaw (fourth), Max Hardart (sixth), and Max Moore (eighth) posted top eight finishes.

Zhang (fourth) and Regenwetter (seventh) advanced to the 100 fly finals.

O’Connor and Duetoft finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 200 free prelims to advance to the finals.

Moore and Regenwetter finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 100 breast prelims.
