Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Allison Liu, a senior at Mountain View High School in Northern California, has made a verbal commitment to the admission process* at the University of Pennsylvania for 2026-27.

“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Pennsylvania! I’m truly grateful to my friends, teammates, and coaches at PASA for supporting me along this journey. Special thanks to my parents, your unwavering love and belief in me has made all of this possible. I also wanted to thank Coach Mike, Andrew, and Maddie for giving me this incredible opportunity. GO QUAKERS!! ❤💙

Swimming with her club team Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics, Liu scored a trio of PBs at Winter Juniors West last December, going 23.53 in the 50 free, 51.22 in the 100 free, and 54.63 in the 100 fly in individual events. She also anchored the PASA 200 free relay in 22.44 and hit lifetime bests in the 50 free (23.12) and 100 back (57.70) in time trials.

In high school swimming, she placed 3rd in the 50 free (23.61) and 8th in the 100 free (52.34) at the CIF-Central Coast Section Championships before going on to the California State Meet and finishing 9th in the 50 free (23.50) and splitting a 22.22 free and a 24.13 fly on relays.

This summer, she competed at three championship meets in a row: Novato Sectionals, Sacramento Futures, and U.S. Junior National Championships. In Novato, she placed 3rd in the 50 free with a PB of 26.52. She was also 5th in the 100 fly (1:02.82) and 16th in the 100 free (59.81). A week later in Sacramento, she was 10th in the 50 free (26.62), 4th in the 50 fly (27.83), and 17th in the 100 fly (1:02.46). She wrapped up the summer in Irvine, where she finaled in the 50 fly (26th) with a PB of 27.54.

Best SCY times:

  • 50 free – 23.11
  • 100 free – 51.22
  • 50 fly – 25.34
  • 100 fly – 54.63
  • 100 back – 57.70

Liu will join the Quakers’ class of 2030 with Hailey Preuss, Katelynn Zhou, Morgan Knox, and Sophia Gao. Her times are already fast enough to score in the ‘B’ finals of the 50 free and 100 fly and the ‘C’ final of the 100 free at the Ivy League Women’s Championships.

*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.

If you have a commitment to report, please send an email with a photo (landscape, or horizontal, looks best) and a quote to Recruits@swimswam.com.
