Live music discovery platform Bandsintown has reached 100 million registered fan users across 196 countries despite what the company describes as persistent challenges with event awareness.
The company, which connects concertgoers with touring artists, says it now has a network of over 700,000 registered artists and 65,000 venues and promoters. The platform runs a catalog of 2.3 million events and employs AI to generate 450 million personalized recommendations each month, directing users to shows based on their listening history and location data.
Bandsintown says those recommendations appear to be translating into ticket sales. The platform logs nearly 20 million monthly click-throughs to ticketing pages, with the company reporting that more than half of its users have attended concerts because of platform suggestions.
The milestone comes as the live music sector continues to grow. Goldman Sachs estimates the global concert market at $38.2 billion in 2024, with projections pointing to $79.7 billion by 2030.
“While the world continues to become more digital and people often feel less connected, we can find optimism knowing 100 million fans have shown they are doubling down on experiences that can’t be pixelated, compressed or faked.”

However, Bandsintown says the industry continues to struggle with getting people to shows. In the US, roughly 40% of concert tickets go unsold per year, largely due to fans being unaware events are happening, Bandsintown said.
The company’s model addresses this gap by integrating with major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Google, Shazam, YouTube, and YouTube Music, giving its service access to more than 4.1 billion monthly active users across those platforms. Bandsintown has also partnered with Amazon Music for merch integration.
Bandsintown data shows that 60% of ticket clicks go to emerging artists with fewer than 250,000 followers, suggesting the service plays a role in developing acts beyond established headliners. The company adds 900,000 new fans monthly, along with 5,000 artists.
Fabrice Sergent & Julien Mitelberg, Co-Founders & Co-Managing Partners, Bandsintown Group, said: “While the world continues to become more digital and people often feel less connected, we can find optimism knowing 100 million fans have shown they are doubling down on experiences that can’t be pixelated, compressed or faked.”
“Our mission has always been to bring fans closer to the artists they love so, our algorithms don’t try to keep you scrolling in a silo — they’re designed with intention — to get you off your phone and out in the world into a venue, experiencing music with other humans. Live music is an antidote to digital overwhelm and aloneness.”
The platform operates through multiple channels including the Bandsintown Concerts app and website that provide a catalog of live music events globally, the Bandsintown for Artists platform that provides tools to 700,000 musicians to post events, tours, manage presales and promote concerts, as well as Bandsintown Pro, which erves venues and promoters with automated marketing distribution.
