Correctly picking a swimmer to place earns:
- 1st – 7 points
- 2nd – 5 points
- 3rd – 4 points
- 4th – 3 points
Correctly picking a swimmer to place in the top 4, but putting them in the wrong spot, will earn you 1 point.

There was a tie for first on day one between user Whittington and user Cannonball. The tiebreaker also shows the two users got the exact same predictions correct. They both chose Jaouadi (1st), Sarkany (2nd), and Hafnaoui (4th) correctly in the 1650 free; ASU (1st), Florida (2nd), and Texas (3rd) correctly in the 200 medley relay; and Texas (1st) and Stanford (2nd) correctly in the 800 free relay.
There were a few surprises on night one of the meet. Kentucky’s Levi Sandidge finished 3rd in the 1650, a result that was only correctly predicted by 17 of the 312 entrants, though 65 total people chose him to finish somewhere in the top four.
ASU swam the top time in the 200 medley relay, which only 52 people chose, though everyone predicted they would finish in the top four.
The biggest shock of the night, however, came from the 800 freestyle relay where the University of Virginia finished 4th with their prelims swim of 6:06.85. Only six people correctly chose Virginia to finish 4th, but five others thought they would finish in the top four with one person choosing 1st, one person choosing 2nd, and three people thought they would finish 3rd.
