As we do every year, we will be combining the results from the East meet (in Indianapolis) and the West meet (in Austin) to bring you the top 8 finishers in every event.
Day 3 consisted of A/B/C finals of the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, and 100 back and the timed finals of the 200 freestyle relays.

Jersey Wahoos’ Audrey Derivaux won the East meet by half a pool length with a PB of 4:01.83, the 3rd-fastest time in history for a 15-16 girl. She was 1.4 seconds faster than West’s winner, Kayla Han of La Mirada Armada and 8.5 seconds faster than anyone in her heat. Han went 4:03.28 to come to the wall with a 2.7-second margin ahead of CSP Tideriders’ Sydney Schoeck, while the rest of the field was 6.6 seconds behind.

Baylor Stanton from Gwinnett Aquatics won the East meet by a body length with 3:40.48. Behind him, Yi Zheng from Carmel Swim Club (3:41.90) and Ian Heysen of Blue Dolfins (3:43.23) were both faster than West’s champion, Syunta Lee of West Coast Aquatics (3:44.40).

Lakeside Swim Team’s Charlotte Crush was 1.55 seconds faster than anyone else in the combined meets; she won the East with 50.00. Gabi Brito of Beach Cities Alpha earned the West crown, clearing the field by .7 seconds with 51.55.

Mecklenburg Swim Association’s Mike Rice was the sole sub-46 butterflyer of the night, as he won the East meet in 45.89, nearly a full second ahead of 2nd-place George Dovellos of Bolles School. Micah Davis of Aquajets led a tight finish out West, stopping the clock at 46.17 ahead of DART Swimming’s Brandon Ha (46.39) and Seattle Metro’s Charlie Cancelmo (46.65).

Rylee Erisman of Laker Swim was even faster from a flat start than she’d been anchoring the LAKR 800 free relay Wednesday night (with 1:41.86). She came into the meet with a PB of 1:43.51 and, between prelims and finals, dropped 1.6 seconds to establish a new NAG record for 15-16 girls. She finished 4.3 seconds ahead of the West’s Alyssa Ton of Irvine Novaquatics (1:45.22) and 4.6 seconds ahead of the East’s runner-up, Elizabeth Eichbrecht from the other NOVA (NOVA of Virginia).

Bolles School’s Liam Carrington was the 200 free champ by 2.1 seconds in the East meet, and by 1.6 seconds overall, as the West winner, Grant Kellis from Gold Medal Swim, clocked a 1:34.44 to edge Lakeside Aquatics’ Maxwell Stanislaus by .13.

The West girls dominated the breaststroke event. Mikayla Tan of San Ramon Valley (59.04) and Irvine’s Bianca Nwaizu (59.05) both came within .06 of cracking the 59-second barrier, while Nwaizu’s teammate, Sofia Szymanowski (59.97), was only .02 slower than the East winner, Carmel’s Molly Sweeney. In fact, the West produced 6 of the top 8 swims.

It was a much tighter combined field in the boys’ race. SwimAtlanta’s Collin Holgerson put up the fastest overall time by .25, winning the East contest with 52.21. Lubbock Swim Club’s Gunnar Hansen went 52.46 to claim victory in the West meet.

Lakeside Swim Team’s Charlotte Crush was .7 off her 2024 meet record, but her winning time of 50.17 in the East meet was still 1.6 seconds faster than that of the West winner, Gabi Brito from Beach Cities Alpha (51.78). Crush was almost 2 seconds faster than her runner-up, Reina Liu from TAC Titans (52.08).

SwimAtlanta’s Collin Holgerson barely had time to warm down after his 100 breast win before he was called to the ready room for the 100 back final. He won that one, too, lowering the lifetime-best 45.06 he went leading off SwimAtlanta’s 400 medley relay last night. Not only was his winning 44.94 the fastest time of the combined meet by a full body length, but it also erased Will Modglin’s 2022 meet record of 45.01. Waterloo Swimming’s Benjamin Jaggers (46.18) eked out a West win over Longhorn Aquatics’ Rowan Cox (46.31) to placed 2nd and 3rd, overall.

Beach Cities Alpha won the West meet with the overall fastest time, thanks to splits of 22.24 from Gabi Brito, 22.57 from Andi Taylor, 22.71 from Sora Koike, and 23.09 from Eryn Arnold. While Laker Swim did not make the top 8 overall, the 6th-place finisher in the East meet featured a 21.84 anchor from Rylee Erisman.

The Central Ohio Aquatics quartet of Caden Mahl (20.26), Jake Lloyd (19.36), Alex Wu (19.95), and Austin Carpenter (19.39) blasted a new Short Course Junior Nationals meet record of 1:18.96 in the East meet. An hour later, in Austin, Quicksilver Swimming erased that mark with 1:18.67, undercutting a pair of NAG records (17-18 and 15-18) at the same time. The QSS foursome, who had set the 15-16 NAG record in 2024, consisted of Nathan Foucu (19.87), Clark Apuada (20.06), Isaac Litwiller (19.29), and Tyler Porter (19.45).
