Ponte Vedra High School sophomore Juliana Calvalcanti was among the standouts at the 5th Annual Frank Holleman Swimming & Diving Invitational, notching one of the top performances of the 2025 high school season.
Cavalcanti’s highlight came in the girls’ 200 IM, where she touched first in 2:03.47. The swim not only secured gold but also broke two major marks, lowering the meet record of 2:03.50 set in 2024 and resetting the PVHS program record of 2:07.11 that had stood since 2022. The time also marked her fastest performance ever in the event, lowing her best from March at 2:05.80.
She now holds the fastest high school time in the nation in the 200 IM for the 2025 season.
She continued her momentum in the 500-yard freestyle, dropping nearly five seconds off her best time to finish third in 5:00.25. That swim also met the AAAA standard.
Cavalcanti’s teammate, Duke commit Lily Doyle, notched a win in the girls’ 500 free, clocking 4:54.65, just under four seconds off her best from the Florida Senior Championships in March (4:50.73).
Sophie Oldham, a junior at Creekside High School, notched a new meet and personal record in the 100 fly, clocking 54.85, topping her previous best of 56.29 from earlier in September.
Oldham’s junior teammate Emmie Lewis clinched the 50 free in 23.34, lowering her best from December of 23.90.
On the boys’ side, Allen Nease High School sophomore Lincoln Driesse captured the 500 free win in 4:29.82, a new lifetime best as he dropped just over a full second from his previous best of 4:30.89 from March.
Ponte Vedra junior Thomas Smith picked up a pair of wins on the meet, first in the 200 free, touching in 1:40.83, just ahead of Driesse in 1:41.88. Smith later nabbed the 100 fly win in meet record fashion, clocking 49.05 to hold off a charging Luke Zardavets in 49.62.
Zardavets, a junior at Nease High School, had a good outing of his own, adding a win in the 100 breast in 56.55
